The LATAM Market Untapped: What makes it so special?

by

This Thursday the 25th at 12:20 GMT -3, Terra Localizations CEO, Marina Ilari, and Business Development Manager, Florencia Fole, will share their insights on the unexplored Latin American video game market, based both on recent data and over 15 years of experience working in the localization field.

The What

The session will be part of BIG DIGITAL 2020, one of the largest game business hubs in Latin America together with EVA DIGITAL 2020, organized by the Association of Video Game Developers of Argentina (ADVA). During their 50 minute talk, Marina and Florencia will unveil some of the secrets about a market that has been largely overlooked despite being the 3rd largest market in terms of revenue, population, and gamer forecasts.

As not every market is the same, developers and publishers need to have a custom-made localization strategy in order to go global -or better yet, go LATAM-, which is why it’s always a good idea to work with localization professionals who know the ins and outs of the video game market.

The Where

Within the framework of BIG Digital 2020, Brazil’s largest independent games festival, Marina and Florencia will share their views on an industry that has grown like few others during the COVID-19 pandemic. During this 5-day event, names as big as Nintendo, Snapchat, Epic Games, Facebook Gaming, and many others will dive into the nitty-gritty of the gaming industry.

The Who

A market is only as good as its users, so here is a good question to ask yourself when trying to penetrate a new market: who are my target users and what can I do to make them fall in love with my game?

The How

Here’s a no-brainer that will get your game far if you also remember to consider the different local cultures: the closer the localization team -internal or external- works with the authors and the dev team, the better the results will be.

Want to know what’s there for publishers and video game developers to find in Latin America besides tacos, samba, and soccer? Join Marina and Florencia on Thursday the 25th at 12:20 GMT-3 and find out! Save the date!
